What is SVTS?

Smart Vehicle Tracking System
Teknobil has developed the entire technology for the hardware and software under the trademarked Smart Vehicle Tracking System (SVTS). With SVTS, organizations have at their disposal an effective tool for the control and tracking of their vehicle fleets. SVTS brings measurable time and cost savings. They also promote fair employee management, prevention of misuse, employee and passenger safety, etc. SVTS can support bi-directional communication between vehicles and the control center(s). This communication can be in the form of GPRS connection, data line, SMS or voice communication.
Teknobil can offer optional SVTS hardware and software to support additional functionality like; listening the cabin, remote monitoring of vehicle parameters (gas, temperature), automatic accident or motor breakdown reporting, remote control of the engine (start-stop), etc.
Teknobil's Smart Vehicle Tracking System (SVTS) integrates the GPS based Fleet Management concept and SAT GPRS technology (or optionally Thuraya Satellite offering a full-fledged Fleet Management solution in the entire footprint of Thuraya). It is much more than a simple vehicle tracking system. It has many additional smart features ensuring the full and intelligent management of a fleet and/or assets.
As an option, to provide extra traceability and security, both systems GSM/GPRS and Thuraya can be employed back to back, monitoring each other. The system will be so tuned that whenever SAT/GPRS network is unavailable, SVTS will switch to Thuraya network then back, as the GSM coverage achieved.
What are the Components of SVTS?
Teknobil's Smart Vehicle Tracking System (SVTS) is an advanced solution for all your fleet management needs. SVTS consists of the following elements, all specially developed by Teknobil:
Control Center: Special telecommunications equipment and software that handle information gathering, dissemination and processing.
Vehicle Units: Smart devices that collect information from GPS satellites and any other input devices; transmit information to and respond to commands sent by the Control Center.
Telecommunications Channel: The communication between each Vehicle Unit and the Control Center can be realized via GSM (SMS, data link or GPRS) and/or satellite.
Who can benefit from SVTS?
Freight and courier fleets.
Cash transportation services.
Urban and tourist bus fleets.
Personal car security.
Property and car insurance companies.
Fishing fleets.
Shipping fleets, cruise lines and oil tankers.
Army and navy fleets.
Governments.
Customs.
Postal services.
Railway services.
Border patrols and cost guards.
Main Features of SVTS
Periodic Position Reporting: The user specifies the frequency of reporting based on time or distance traveled.
Polling: Get the latest position information either by means of SMS or GPRS messages.
Black Box Property: Record data locally and allow it to be read remotely (Store and forward feature).
Data Security: Messages between the control center and the vehicle can be encrypted to ensure secure communication. The CRC-CCIT algorithm is used to ensure data integrity and 128 bit encoding is used to ensure data security.
Voice Communication: Not just a data terminal fully equipped with voice features as well.
Add-On Features: Modular structure allows the addition of sensors and control equipment for various purposes from driver identification and fuel consumption to load monitoring and immobilization.
Live Tracking: The user is able to track the vehicles using a web browser from any computer having an internet connection.
Mark Places of Interest: The user can mark company head quarters, branches, customer locations, and other places of interest on digital maps with GPS accuracy.
Show Path Traveled: The user can plot the path traveled by a given vehicle on the screen over digital map background.
Detailed Reports: Various built-in reports provide past as well as current information and statistics about vehicles.
Capability of assigning up to 4090 control points, 256 rectangular regions, 256 polygon region (less than 30 angels) and 256 roads to a vehicle.
Capability of defining different speed limits for different road types.
Smart Event Based Reporting: Events trigger automatic position reporting when a vehicle meets any of the conditions you specify. Each message carries 15 positions significantly saving communications costs.
Smart Event Based Reporting - Examples of Events:
When a vehicle enters a control point, region or a road.
When a vehicle exits a control point, region or a road.
When a vehicle stays idle more than a specified time in a control point, region or a road.
When a vehicle exceeds its predefined upper speed limit for more than the tolerance time in a control point, region or a road.
When a vehicle exceeds its predefined upper/lower speed limit.
When a vehicle’s alarm button is pressed
When the vehicle’s ignition is turned on /off.
When the tracking device power is turned off.
